Try to avoid jewel cichlids unless you have a tank with about one or more of them, they can kill just about anything when they feel like it 
Breeding (death for other fish) color shown B) There is severe algae problems in that tank, we can't put anything in to eat it, because the jewels will KILL it 
You could fit... maybe a pencil or two in his mouth. For comparison of course, I wuld never do it to any fish
