Instead of pruning mine I might let it grow out of the top of my tank to see what it looks like, it's be quite interesting, and I'm also interested in putting some in a paludarium.
 
it grows really nicely in my tank, but it is quite slow growing. I tend to snip it in half when it gets near the top and replant it.

I nip it in half when it nears the surface, but I find they are not so easy to replant cause they have no roots and tend to be uprooted easily.
 
Should grow fine in a paludarium setting. I can't even get it anymore. :( It's a noxious weed where I live so mail order won't send. Lolol, could probably check a local ditch. But that's icky. :sick:
 
Well I left it and after 2 days there is about an inch or so that is emmersed, it has a rather striking pink hue, I'll leave it for the time being but if it grows to be too tall I'll have to do something!
 
Here's an image, as you can see, the Hygro is lifting the Salvinia natans out of the water:

Cheers, it was edited, I've started using Google Picassa, it's great for picking out certain parts and shadowing in bits, as well as cropping and resizing.
