Betta Pairs!

hey guys these are two bettas i own and im trying to breed... cant wait to see how the fry turn out!

thanks guys, i will take pictures throught the entire process.... im a bit suspicious that they have done the deed already... the male is under the bubble nest and every time the female gets close he chases her away, unlike before where the female will run away and the male would try to entice her into the bubble nest, but i cant see the eggs in the bubble nest, guess ill have to wait a couple days and see...

i'd remove the female then if you haven't already, even if its just back in the chimney, the eggs can be hard to see

hey guys so its been 10 days since my betta fish mated, and the fry are doing great! they definately are taking form and its been so awesome watching them develop....

after I removed the male I only say 2-3 betta fish, I thought he had eaten them... after a couple days I saw 5-6 and now that they are bigger and all hang out in a group I have a final count of 9 (definately not the 50 or 100 you read your going to get from websites, BUT im so happy, i think its better I start small for my first time taking care of fry.

theyve been eating baby brine shrim and im prety sure the tank water has infusorians and im waiting for some microworms to arrive so they dont end up with a bladder problem from too much bbs.

also ive come to notice there are tiny snails (but no shells, maybe slugs?) in the tank, i think they came with the plant... im just wondering should i take them out, or are they helping keep my tank clean??? yesterday i saw one of the fry trying to eat one- unsuccessfull but i think it killed it with such a powerful bite LOL.....

I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to say WOW! Stunning fish!

they're so stunning and gorgeous. Fancy bettas just take my breath away, it just astounds me how much they are different from regular old pet store bettas. So ethereal, so calming to look at. Are you breeding to sell or just as hobby? :3

sorry its been a while, I actually breed as a hobby and that was my first attempt, havent tried again until recently working on a pair (male i bought at a pet store and female was one of the fry from the above post)... they fry actually did turn out with a blueish/greenish body and red wash fins - just what i was hoping for. once they grew i just gave them to good petstores were i knew they would go quickly....

here are some pics of the new pair im trying to breed.... ps the bettas i have were all bought at a pet store (cant really afford the ones online), but i dont ususally buy the random bettas, i look and look and when one strucks my eyes i buy it and add it to the family LOL
