i have a female in a new betta tank i got from petsmart and it has a divider in it and i put a new male in it a couple days later i think. for 2 days they were fine then i come home from school a couples hours later and the female is in with the male! is that normal? neither are hurt. i watched them for a little while. they just kind of ignored each other then made faces, and fought i guess then ignored each other. so i put her back on the other side. the male looks sad and just stays at the bottom corner and the goes down there and stares at him for a while or swims arounds. he hasnt make a bubble nest or anything.
the picture i posed is my female, and my icon or w/e is the male.

I am starting to feel like the only one who has bettas that don't jump even though with how they get ready to take freeze dried makes me think they are though

awww im sorry :/
she had barley an inch to get up and over to the other side so it was weird. i wish i could have seen her do it hahah

I would just let them loose to be honest and see how things go :) i love seeing beta's swimming around with other fish :) Alot of them can be completely placid aslong as you dont put another male in the tank :)

I don't see it as a bad thing since it means I don't need a lid yet seeing as my last lid felt the wrath of the curious cat

oh lol every night my cat likes to watch my fishes... im scared she is going to nock them over

Bettas can get through the tiniest gaps as i recently found out with my divided tank, the gap was like 5mm if that and a fully grown male got through  you need a tight fitting lid

The first time I let her sniff the tank with my male crowntail he flared up and scared her so badly she wont go near any of the betta tanks it was funny watching.

oomg thats amazing!

lol silly kitty.

i just dont understand why she wanted to be on the other side of the tank.....
