So i have recently found a pure white half moon Betta. It being cheap and me having more than enough room for it decided to purchase it. I put it in quarantine at the moment in a 3 gallon bucket which has some dried oak leaves at the top and i feed him blood worms and spirulina brine shrimp each once a day. I will keep him in the bucket for about 2 weeks before moving him into an actual tank. I do daily water changes of 50% and put fresh leaves every few days. I am just wondering if anyone has encountered these Betta's. I have seen some being sold online very expensive, but never in another LFS.

The choice here in the UK is very limited. You never see half moons, let alone white ones! I bought one from a UK breeder though. He was a tailbiter and died from dropsy :-(
I don't think they're rare on aquabid or in the US though. Doesn't matter really, if you're happy with him :)

I seen half moons since forever. I am speaking about pure white ones which have no trace of another color and are half moons. By pure white i do not mean metallic ones. I have breed Betta's for many years and perhaps i will breed him.

I had a half moon bought from my arch enemy of a lfs. I refuse to buy fish from there anymore. This specific shop get lots of tail types in, often have half moons and doube tails and OHMs and brilliant colours; however they are riddled with disease and bad water and aren't very healthy unfortunately.

None of my bettas are "fancy" tails, my boy is a VT and I think his tail is lovely lol; spoilt boy that he is :)
