Hi Everyone,

I have a 20 gallon tank and some fish in there. I want to get some more. I know there are a few different directions i can go with this. But I would like everyone to list what they have so I can get some ideas. Plus I wanna see how you guys do things!

Here is what I have

A pair of swordtails
2 small corydora catfish
6 neon tetras
a pair of gold barbs

I was thinking of possibly getting some more barbs, but the two i have in there seem to be doing very well by themselves and like hanging out with the other fish. I'm definatly goning to get at least one more cory. I know it is said that they do well in groups of 6, but i dont know if i want that many in my 20 gallon tank, especially when they grow.

Any reccomendations? what do you have?

ps. this is not a planted aquarium

Thats a nice setup and I would start to consider stopping adding fish very soon as the more room they have the happier they are especially with tetras in there if they get stressed they can start white spot and that is not good :p

20 Gal? Mine's slightly above that at 90 litres.
My tank is at the limit, it is slightly over stocked but regular water changes, weekly, seem to keep everything fine. I have

10 flame tetra
10 neon tetra
5 guppies
5 corrys

90 litre here too;
6 Panda Cory, 7 Danio, 3 Platy, 5 Cardinal, 1 German Blue Ram, 1 Longfin Angel Ram (So i think by my research).

thanks. yeah i hear u. i dont want to add too much more. just a little something else to make it more interesting. i dont mind keeping it a little overstocked as i dont mind doing water changes.

Yeah fair, i'm just really cautious with tetras now because my friend had a 180cm long tank and one of his 20 tetras got freaked out for some reason and it spread killed all the fish, and I had to help clean the whole tank out! :p

I've got 6 longfin black skirted tetras. Planning to get a shoal of corys soon. The tank is planted.

longfin black tetras are nice. way better than the standard ones. hard for me to find in my area.

We really, really like them. Hadn't even seen them before we bought these! I'll get a photo up here in a few ...

yeah i used to have one back when i was a kid. just one. lol. he became really good friends with my silver dollar.

What species of cory do you have?

As long as you don't have any more bottom dwelling fish, you can probably fit 5-6 cory cats comfortably in your tank. Depending on the floor space of your tank, the species, and who you ask, you can probably have anywhere from 5-10... If it was me, I would go with 6. 3 cats is the bare minimum and they all must be the SAME species. When you build the shoal up to around 6, the cats begin to show more natural behavior.

i have one guy. he is like a white tiger/leopard print. The other is all white with a greyish blackish large spot behind the gills.

i started with the one. and wanted to get another, but my LFS ran out of that particular species. the two dont really hang out much.

here they go. i got these from google.

here is the other

strange it only let me post the one pic.
