Hey guys! I've been wondering if i could add a few corydoras (like 5 or 6) to this tank setup. I already have a Betta and Espei rasboras in there, but i feel the bottom area is too lonely. I wouldve put shrimp like in my other tank, however the betta might eat them. So i went on and thought about cories. My question is,if you look at my tank, its pretty much planted, and there is only a small open area for them to swim in (the white area in the pic) so i've really been thinking if i should go through with this or not.

Also i need suggestions on the kind of cories to put if ever. I was thinking panda cories but i want more suggestions. Im going for a bright yellow-ish feel for the tank (hence the yellow betta and espei rasboras) so id really want more suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any replies! :D

What size is it?

From the photos, it looks like 6 dwarf Corys would work.

I don;t see why you couldn;t keep corys in there, if its planted they just mill in and around the roots of plants anyway

Im sure you could get away with 6 pandas in there, they would certainly make it lively :)

the guy i bought it from says its 11 gals, though i call it 10 gal for simplicity :D well the main reason why i asked is i heard cories need like an open area for looking for food in the substrate or sumthin like that, however i have very little open floor area that isnt planted....so yeah  also i wasnt sure if they would bother the plants while searching the bottom for food.

You would get away with 6 pygmy/dwarf cories,i would say imo that 10 gal is small for average cories, has they do like to hunt around etc...

+1 and the open area is not that large (although even a small one usually seems enough)

pygmy and panda cories are both small enough to fit right? cause i rarely see any pygmys in my area (heck, havent even seen one to be honest) and also,i assume this is a go signal? despite the small open area and plants in the tank? :D are there any problems i should look out for or anything?

Panda's are sadly a no, they are just to big to have a decent shoal, pygmy/drawfs are really your only option

awww, well if the tank cant take them, wont force it. Dwarf cories it is then, hope i can find some  thanks guys!
