I want to purchase new tank, such as the Juwell Vision 450, but you can't seem to buy it without it shipping with the filter and heaters. Are there any manufactures or suppliers that sell such size tanks without all the extras. I want to get the tank and possibly the stand but source my own preferred choice of filter, heater etc. Any ideas?

A possibility could be to keep your eye on the classified section of this forum. There are always tanks going cheap and you could possibly get them cheaper if you asked for them without any equipment.

Just get a custom made tank from a company such as Aquariums.ltd or ndaquatics, you can get all sorts of sizes, whatever you want. And a cabinet coloured how you want. Will save you loads of cash

James.

I agree with both the above posts. Buying a second hand tank will save you loads of money, will do exactly the same thing as well!

Hmmmm, I might of wished I hadn't thought about this. I went into a branch of Maidenhead Aquatics and looked at the tanks and aquariums made by Seashell Aquariums. Whilst I'm not sure about the actual tanks, we quite liked the cabinets. They are made in solid oak not laminate, which fits in with the rest of our furniture in our house, and the wife has decided that's the style to go for.

Unfortunately, the tanks and cabinets in the range are only available as 16" deep, not quite deep enough for me. Seashell don't supply direct to the public, so there's no point trying to go down the bespoke avenue.

Does anybody know of a manufacturer of solid oak cabinets, specifically for aquariums? Aquariums Ltd and ND Aquatics only make laminate cabinets.

I see these tanks last time I went into Maindenhead, they look really nice and strong.
