I've been keeping fish on and off for several years but I've never seen this one before. :/ This has seemingly come from no where. I do not know my water quality numbers but I had a sample tested at the local store and the guy said it was just fine. I've go a 36gal, temp is ~75deg and plenty of filtration. All my Neons have this and my Platys are starting to show signs. They all act normal and eat just fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

That's strange, it doesn't look like anything such as an infection really.
Kinda just looks like their fin coloring to me? or their colors reflecting from the light. hmm.
They didn't have this when you purchased them and started developing it out of nowhere?

My neons had this colouring, so i think that's just them reaching adulthood and their colours coming out. The only thing that makes me concerned is your platys doing it.. any chance of pictures of the platy?
xxx

That particular fish looks in terrific condition. Is there bullying in the tank? I had some uber horny male guppies once that pestered everyone and got the same streaks on my fish. It didnt seem to affect them much as far as behavior. all ate great! no flicking or flashing. and those spots would come and go.
Keep the water clean and feed a good varied diet. definatey watch for signs of bullying/pestering.
Can you get any more pics up of some of the other fish? and include any other symptoms you might be noticing?
and whats the temp?
cheers

I can't get the little buggers to sit still enough but here you can see faintly.

Hmmm. Bullying might be the case. I'll pay more attention. I've not seen more than typical feeding frenzy type behavior but not pestering. My temp is pretty steady in the mid 70's.
