Whoever said these were peaceful little fish were telling lies! they terrorise my tank, no fish can go near their space without getting nipped, I've got six of them and they are proper little bullies.

How odd! Mine can be boisterous between themselves but don't bother any of the other occupants which include Threadfin and Celebes Rainbows.

Weird, I have ten, and they just wrestle each other shoulder to shoulder a bit. They (the males I guess) go almost black in colour when this is happening, but they don't bother any other fish.

Are you 100% sure they are Pencilfish as it is very odd behaviour for them?!

They are definatly pencil fish m8 and they really have a go at everything in the tank, im wondering if its because they were the first occupants in there for a while so they regard the place as theirs.
