When they are close to giving birth the vent turns a dark colour and she will look squarish.

Your female appears to be about a week away. She is not squared off yet but is definitely showing some nice size. She will square off before dropping her fry. Instead of a rounded shape to her abdomen, it will become almost flat across the bottom. Please refer to the link I have in my signature area to a thread that shows shape changes as a female nears her drop. The link is called My Molly's Progress and is rich in pictures of my big female between one drop and the next. It will let you compare your fish's shape to the fish in the picture.

Thank you. So it wouldnt be harmful to move her to the 5 gallon tank today then? She would be by herself for a couple days.

Make sure you have lots of plants either fake or real for the fry to hide in. She will seek them out to eat.
Platys usually stay pregnant for 3 to 4 weeks. Keep in mind that she can brood up to 5 sets of fry from one mating. So set your calendar after she has this drop. In about 3-4 weeks after, she will probably have another.
below is a pic of a Platy one day before a drop. This should help you identify when she will drop.

She is a beauty. She isn't mine though. Below is the only female currently breeding. I have a blue male with stripes along either side. My theory is that some of the fry will inherit this and keep the red coloration.
