I got this fish at the store the other day. He said it was a molly, but I'd love to know what sub-species. He is being really bossy with the Fancy Tailed Guppy I have, as well as with the neon tetras.

The fish in question is the one with a yellow dorsal fin and orange tail. The smaller one is the female version of the bigger one.

Well is a platy not a molly, and it's a sunset platy.

Difficult to sex from the photo's but the larger one look's like a typical female colouration and the smaller look's like a male.
The only way to sex them is to look at the anal fin (the one by the belly) in males this is pointed and females are triangular in shape.

Thank you for the quick response. He has been a little aggressive with the other fish. Is a platy ok to keep with guppies and tetras?

Yes they should all be fine. However do note that some tetra's are prone to nipping esp on long guppy tails.
