You wanna see them when they're first hatched, I don't think there is a camera out there that would be able to photograph them. They all congregate on my mesh for my moss wall when hatched and all you can see is a group of microscopic white dots that move a millimeter a day lol.

This is a great little tank Andy, looks really good. That hygrophila looks as though is missing something, what are you dosing?

Stevereade – lol... is that what this is then? i thought it must have been some kinda bug that came in on a plant. You might want to turn the sound down, I had BBC showing today’s riot in London on when I filmed it.

Ianho - Thanks, I've only been doing twice weekly dose of micros. it's my first tank and I wasn't sure how much the waste from the frogs/shrimp would produce, and whether I would need to dose macros. Do you think I'd be better dosing TPN+ at 1ml per 20litres daily? aaronnorth also recommended a regime of half EI dosing for the same tank without CO2 in another thread:

5ml solution KNO3 3x a week
2.5ml solution KH2PO4 3x a week
1ml solution K2SO4 3x a week
1ml traces 3x a week

i meant to say, that video was filmed with 2 magnifying glasses over the camcorder. It's in a shot glass.

IMO i would up the dose of N and P to another day. Frogs and shrimp hardly produce any waste. It won't hurt to up the dose if the plants are starting to look like this. As Long as you keep up with the water changes.

cheers, i had them fixed to the back of the tank, on the outside, just above the waterline. The bulbs don't really stick out from the strip so it was just blu-tacked on.

Well guys, i've been pretty busy lately, i managed to get myself a new flatmate and new job, both of which mean i'll have more money to play with my tanks! :D first off, i've turned to the darkside... it was my original plan, but blew my budget on the external filter. The flourite sand took ages to clear, but i really like the way it looks, and my plants could do with the bit of leeway it'll give. There couple of small algae blooms, brown diatom and a green hair trident shaped one, i'll put some pics up later. Shrimp are still breeding like crazy and i've got some more to mix up the gene pool, they're currently in a nursery tank, which i'm filling up with cuttings and a riccia carpet. I'll update propperly with more pics later today.

Thanks, i've uploaded a little video to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGjOQzO6asE which lets you see a bit more of the colour in some of the plants. I noticed the bark had started to peel off the wood, so took it out last night and gave it a good scrub with a wire brush. Here's a pic of my 4G nursery tank with the cuttings in it. The riccia and baby shrimp seem to be thriving dispite all the rumours about them not liking liquid carbon. I'll give it a propper scape once i've more time. :)

yeh, i really love mine. they're so funny to sit and watch, and really cool to hear their litle songs if i'm awake at night. In case anyone was wondering, i haven't tied the anubias and Bolbitis back onto the wood yet, they're not really meant to be floating there :). The Bolbitis has never seemed to like the tank much, its putting out lots of new shoots, but the older leaves are still quite brown and patchy, maybe it was positioned too close to the light or in a dead spot and not getting enough flow. My Crypt Amicorum is starting to spread, new little plantlets are shooting up around it. :)

Hey all,

i've had a wee bit of a rescape, essentially i've flipped the wood upside down and moved it to the other side of the tank. This has really improved my circulation along the bottom of the tank. I've also switched to an external heater, and added a d-d co2 kit. i've also changed to the aquamagic lily pipe set and really love how simple the set up looks in the tank now. The guys and girls in there seem to like it too, i've recently spotted baby assassian snails and got my first lot of frog spawn the other day!

What a lovely tank! The growth is lush and healthy. And the tank is very clean. I like clean tanks. :good:

If I was an aquatic frog, I'd be very happy to live in that tank. :)
