the tools i use, rather large! I will be adding many more tommorow too
 
i know what you mean, its gonna be a nightmare digging up all of the stuff, oh btw fishkeeper4567 if you want to spruce up your tank then i would suggest the plants that i have in my pic, cabomba and the waterweed (Egeria densa)they are quite easy to keep and fit in well with the biube
 
ah i just realised, spelt plant name wrong completely! meant to be elodea densa, dont know what i was thinking, must have been falling asleep
 
It looks excellent! I never knew how good biube's look good with live plants. My get some at the weekend and get rid of the fake ones. Are three any more suitable one's? How much approx to they cost?

as you can see the fish are slowly taking over my house!

they cost me aprox. £1.50 a bunch, the bunches are so large though that i can only include some, the others get chucked in the plant bucket (about 35l!), other good things to get are java moss and java ferns as they're all easy to grow, remember that if you buy certain plants you could have to use a CO2 system so keep it in mind
 
I see you have some pebbles. I have loads all over my tank. Would this still be all right for live plants? I guess I would have to bury them in the ceramic media. That about moss balls?

P.S Sorry for all the questions. :blush:
 
it depends on the type of plants you get, some will come with no roots at all, this means they can absorb stuff through their leaves and they can be planted however you like, plants with roots will have to be pushed into substrate or tied to a piece of bogwood/other material
 
Thanks. I think I'm going to go with some green cabomba and some moss balls.
 
good choice, btw if your cabomba doesnt fit in the biube e.g. too tall you should leave it for a while before trimming the tops as when i first got them i trimmed on plant and it died from the shock, instead wait until they start sprouting white roots from along the stem, this means they have acclimatised to the tank and are starting to grow. also i would reccommend that for a while after getting the plants you set the light so that there is 14 hours of daylight, do this at 6ish in the morning by turning the light off then turning back on again a pressing the button 5 times
