Very nice indeed.

How are you finding the sand to keep clean?

It's surprisingly easy. When I do a 25% change every week, all surface dirt is sucked out.
I would recommend it if you are thinking about it! I used UNIPAC Ice white Aquarium sand, I bought a 12.5kg bag online for around £12.
You have to wash the sand thoroughly to remove all unwanted dirt and dust etc... once placed in the tank and the water is added, it takes about a week until the water is crystal clear.

Cheers James.

Your moonlight strip, where did you get it from? Presumably you run it on a night for the fish?

Your set up is pretty much how I'd like to have mine tbh, so seeing yours is making me envious.

Haha, well when i was shopping around for the Fluval Edge, i seen all sorts of mods that people had been adding! Some turn this into a marine tank, its amazing.
The tank will look better when my MR11 LED bulbs arrive (To replace the yellow halogen ones), they are like a super cool white colour. The blue LED strips are flexible waterproof ones, they cost me £3.45 on Ebay! I bought 2 strips, 24lights in each strip. All i did was join them to the original wire running up to the halogen lights. Yes, the LED's stay on through the night, they are about 1watt and cost nothing to run.

Here is the link to the LED strips.

Hope that helps

Maybe in the furute if i have room lol...
(one more thing do you leave the sand to settle for a few days before turning the filter on?)

Hi,

I let the sand settle overnight, then put the filter on in the morning. The water was a little cloudy, but that's it. :)
