Thanks for the replies. I've one more small group of pictures before I have to give my friend his camera back.

My first live plant, java fern. I hope everything goes OK with it.

Is that java fern planted into the ground? If so, the roots shouldn't be in the gravel. Just rubber band the plant to a rock for a while and it should eventually attach to the rock

dwarfs: no, the java plant is just above the gravel, I'm using a few pieces to keep it weighted down. I have some others on the rocks around the tank.


And finally my cycling 30 gallon. The rocks aren't where I want them yet (and I'll probably be adding more)

That's all I have for now. I'll post more pics in the future when the live plants start growing all over my tank and when my 30 gallon has fish in it.

I havn't decided whats going into the 30 gallon yet. I'm not going to put a background on it since its being used as a roon divider and will be looked at from both the kitchen and the dining room. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I know I said I was done posting pics for now but I found one more and it made me laugh so hard I had to put it up. The puffer moved his left eye to the side just as I was taking the picture.
