Hi I have sent up a new tank with some large rocks and want some ideas for good plants that can grow on rocks. I will be get some moss for some ofn the smaller rocks but have some larger rocks which would be too difficult at the moment to cover. I have java ferns in my other tank but I thought they would look like the 1st picture but end up looking like the 2nd picture. Are there different varieties other than normal or narrow leaf? Are there any other plants that grow on rocks other than java fern or moss that aren't too difficult?

Thanks
Mark

Didn't realise how small the 1st pic was here it is again.

Apart from the ones you mention, there are anubias, which come in many different types, from small to big leaves. Another possibility is bolbitis heudelotti, a type of fern, but this fern needs flow to thrive and is pretty slow growing. A microsorum type that I like very much is windelov. It stays small, but gives a very nice, almost carpeting effect.

Oh I forgot to say anubias but I already have some. The windelov seems ideal for what I want. Thanks.
