So i got a 29 gallon (30x12x18)...got a few ideas of what to put in but cant decide lol. or if anyone has suggestions that would be cool.

Tank 1 Option:
4x Otto's or 3x kuhli loaches
10x Neon tetras
1x Gourami, not sure which one yet

Tank 2 Option:
4x Corys
4x Silver Hatchet fish
6x white skirt tetras

Don't worry, I am waiting till the tank is cycled before i put them in :)...at a reasonable amount at a time. Any other suggestions is cool.

How about 8 Rummeynose tetras, 1 Angelfish and 4-5 Hatchet fish. Or even a nice Gold Gouramis insteand of the angel. I would go with a couple fo schools fo fish and one or two bright centerpiece fish.

a gold gourami does seem cool, yeah i was trying to go for a school, bottom and centerpiece fish setup. But i have always liked the look of rummynoses.

I dont know about stocking such a small tank but why not mix some of the plastic plants you have into the whole scape
?

looks bare on the left and too congested on the right (to me atleast)

I wouldn't recommed Neons into a new tank. Ideally you should wait until 6 months after your filter has cycled. Rummynoses would be better

With 29 gallons you do have some more room for perhaps three dwarf gouramis. Like mentioned before neons can be a bit hard to keep up when i comes to new setups. The kuhlie loaches are nice, but as you might know you may never see them once they get into the gravel/sand. All the same I would go with three kuhlies and maybe 4-5 cories just to make the bottom of the tank more lively.

yeah ive messed with the tank design somewhat. at first i wanted like a jungle theme but thinking of spreading it out more. and killifish just recently became available at my lfs :) so might try them out, like i said i wont put anything in till its cycled so i got some time to play with some ideas.
