Penguin tetra Thayeria boehlkei
Very nice fish; hardy, peaceful, grow to around 3".
They used to be very popular but seem to overlooked in recent years as people go more for fish that have brighter colours. I had a shoal many years ago and was very fond of them :)

Its seems my LFS hasnt a clue then  ... as these was in the rasboras\danios tank & told me it was a danio. Further research had me to believe it was a rasbora ... but thanks!

Do you think they are happy in a bunch of 4? or should i get another couple?
Ive got 6 cardinals coming next week

I'd recommend getting a couple more, yes. As with all shoaling fish, the larger the group the better (as long as you have the space for them, of course!)
They'll go very nicely with the Cardinals; I kept mine with Neons with never a whisper of a problem :)
