Pest Snails Breeding

Today I went down to my lfs and asked if they had any unwanted pest snails (for my puffer) in there planted section of the store. Help your self I was told and was handed a empty bag with water in. I spent a good ten mins and got about 30 - 40 score.
The question is has any one botherd before to see if they can bread them. I was thinking small tank 10liters properly with lettuce chucked in every few days. Any ideas people.

That sounds good. I find cucumber works better, if you sprinkle some fish flkaes in there, I find that they like the food.... healthy snails will breed easily. What kind of snails, do you know?

I honestly couldn't tell you. Just the general ones that you fine on plants from pet shops. Little black critters some are a little bit transparent and some have a spike shaped shell. Would you recommend running a filter or just changing 10% of the water weekly.
 
Any one any ideas on breeding these little critters for my puffers???
 
There is no need to mess about with the lettuce to breed pond snails. They will eat regular flake food and breed like crazy for you.
 
They do well breeding in my 8 litre planted tank.

My assasin snail keeps them in check though. When I was without the assasin for a couple of weeks, they multiplied at an alarming rate.

As said above, snails will need very little maintenance to thrive.
 
good news then.
Just an algea waffer every now and again and some fish flakes. My little puffer is going to be so happy with his new addition to his diet. sore him for the first time today hunt out, find and then eat on of the little guys. He looked so happy with him self after.
