Hey all,

I've recently started keeping tropical fish again after a break from it. I was given a Resun DMS-400t5 tank and have set it up, however have developed a slight problem - the tube lights do not work on it. There are a set of LED lights which work perfectly and the cooling fans for the lights work, but the bulbs do not light up.

The tank has 4 x 12" Aqua-Glo T5 bulbs which are brand new (just bought today).

Does this sound like a problem with the connectors to the bulbs??

Would I be able to take the lid off the tank and take to a fish shop for them to look at or should I take it to an electricians??)

Any advice would be great!!

Thanks.

Double check the bulbs are connected properly. I'm not familiar with how they connect in this light unit but i know in the past i've had an issue when i've come to remove the old ones and i havnt quite screwed the new ones in exactly how the old ones came out, thus they used to glow at the ends but never actually turned on.

If you continue to experience problems hopefully someone else can assist further on the forum.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The bulbs dont glow at the ends, and I think I have screwed them in properly. There is a clear section under the lid which houses the wiring for the lights. I had a look at that but had no idea what I was looking for...everything looked intact and nothing broken with it.

What I can do is take some photos of the light unit (which is built into the lid) and post it on here which will let people see what I'm up against!!

That in itself should be more helpfull. It'll certainly enable people to see what your on about and be able to assist appropriately.

Attached is a couple of photos of the tank lights connectors/tank size/lid and under lid for people to see. I personally think its the white connectors which the lights go in which are not working. A friend suggested the starter unit on the lights, but not sure what I would be looking for.

This is the other photo I have which shows the name of the tank.
