I use to love the all the aquatic stuff back in around 2000/2001 but then other priorities came about in life and I ended up dropping the hobby although I still have a tank with a couple of 7+ year old Silver Dollars in, I just never vested to much time in them.

Recently my wife asked for a new tank and so the interest started again except this time I wanted to have some real plant life in there and so I have, current there is some Java fern, Java Moss, Marimo Balls, Anubias (on bogwood) and another plant which I forget the name of (normally green on one side of the leaf, purple-ish on the other). I was told by the sources I bought them from that they wouldn't require fert or co2, even with the amount I was popping in there, however looking at the plants now I'm not so sure and believe that maybe I should be doing a little more to keep them strong and health.

Currently there are about 15 neon tetras, 6 guppies (numerous fry), 2 albino catfish, 1 Kissing gourami, 1 red tail shark and a number of Shrimp. I don't plan on adding any more, although if left to the wife they would be packed to the glass, lol

So should I be adding anything else, fert, co2?

Thanks for your advice and input! :) <-- It does this when I put a colon, hyphen and a bracket to indicate a smillie, lol

This is my Tank, the large purple geode is Amethyst and the Pink one is Rose Quartz. :)

Whether you need CO2 addition and regular nutrient dosing is dependent on your lighting.
Do the plants look like they need more care? (is their any algae? Do any plants or parts of them die? Any deficiencies showing?)

The purple/green one does appear a little limp, some leaves look a little jelly-ish. The others still look like when I bought them with the exception of a few more holes which I guess is the fish or snails nibbling on them.

Algy wise, the white substrate looks like it's greening a little, was hoping the shrimp will fix this :)

30%-50% water changes a week and dosing Tropica Plant Nutrition+ and Excel daily should help your plants out.

Thanks for that.

Are these treatments good with Shrimp being in the tank also?
