Why am I browsing a fish forum at 2am?
My mom wanted one of those cheesy "mermaid" looking tanks with the jewels and a castel. So I compromised with jewels and a plant. It is a gallon I think... pretty sure.
Will the bowl be okay with this light? It's a 40 watt bulb and you can see how far away it is. I don't want him jumping so I put a wire screen on the top with some tape lol. Not the best looking but it's better then a suicide.

He's very pretty and the bowl looks fine. Maybe when you get the chance get him a real plant to play in, that would be a comprimise with mom...

Well, in most butterfly patterns the tail is cellophane. His tail is actually clear but it comes up with the shiny green tint on the flash.
His body is a lavander shimmery color, then his tail starts off a dark maroon in the butterfly pattern and then goes into the cellophane. I guess he's like a butterfly cambodian... maybe/maybe not. I dunno.

Notice that red bump sticking out in the first pic? That's him flaring!!! His little gill thingys are bright red and stick out really far! He's gonna give Mr. Butterfly some competition!
There is a drawback with the new tank though. He sees himself in the clear marbles and flares at himself lol. He'll get used to it

OMG! I just bought his twin,half of his tailfin missing from finrot too!! This is creepy! Aren't they just precious.
