Lfs Is Stocking A Fish Called A Flounder?

Saw this little guy at a local pet store. The manager didn't know much about it; just that it was a new item on his fish list and they ordered it to learn about it.

My mom wanted me to buy it the second she saw it. She thought it was adorable. Having learned the hard way about buying fish before researching them, I told her I'd find out more about them and THEN consider buying it if it would work with our tank.

So; if anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it.!

Well...........he looks nothing like the one from the Little Mermaid!

Quite common around here in fish stores. Don't grow big, brackish, seem very fragile, and look like they'll only take live foods.

Alright; no Flounder for me. Thanks!

They are a smaller version of an actual flounder, they can live in freshwater but as they grow they need saltier and saltier water then eventually full saltwater ---> JUST like real flounder that start their lives in freshwater , then brackish, then eventually make it to the ocean... Get to be about the size of a palm, a bit bigger

Dr Neale Monks will probably see this and put us all straight but I kept 2 last year and struggled . I kept them in bracksih but the difficulty is feeding them as they are slow feeders
