So awhile back when I very first got this black angel of mine, literally, the first night, my crawdad attacked and almost took its life. Since then, I removed the crawdad and the angel has grown its tail back, it was eaten all the way to the nub, and most of the abrasions healed and went away to the normal black. But the three deepest ones, they healed to a point, and are now starting to become a fleshy white patch on the side of it. I'm posting pictures of this. Does anyone know what this is? Any help is amazing, thanks.

As you can see in the picture, it does not seem affected and doesn't show any signs of stress.

It eats regularly, but isn't a gluten like my gouramis.

About 2 months ago I had a pretty bad case of Ich that took 3 of my fish, I treated it with 5ml/10 gallons of methylene blue for about 3 weeks, doing water changes every 4 days and during treatment removed all carbon.

I have looked around on Google and can't find anything that looks like this, so any advice is awesome. Thanks again.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Any redness or pinkness to the white patches.
it looks bacterial but need to rule parasites out.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing, excess slime, darting, erratic swimming, laboured breathing.

55 gallon
17 fish(3 Koolie Loaches, 3 Giant Danios, 4 Angels, 3 Hatchets, 4 Gouramis)
pH 7
Ammonia- pretty sure its zero, haven't tested it in awhile, my tap comes out at pH 7 and 0 ppm, I don't have a test myself.
Nitrite/Nitrate- same, don't have a test kit, but shouldn't be high.
No redness or pinkness. As well as no erotic behavior.

If all stats are a MUST I will go get a test kit and give stats.

Thank you for your response.

You need to get your water tested.

if no parasite signs I would take the bacterial route and treat for columnaris.

Awesome, will test within next few days and post results.

As for the treatment, should I remove the fish I need to treat? Or will it just benefit the rest to be treated as well?

I was fearful of loosing my koolies when doing the methylene blue treatment, because I heard that it was fatal to some smooth skinned fish, but they made it.

Thank you for all your help, will post updates of progress when they arise.

Also forgot to mention that its excrements are white in color. They are not skinny, but very white. Does this mean it has an intestinal parasite?

White poo can also be bacterial
Definately treat for columaris, preferably in a QT since no other fish have it and excess meds could make the bacteria resistant as well as harming your fish
Columnaris usually does best in bad water so get your water tested and do a change
Good luck!

I had done a water change no more than a week ago, did 20 gallons, and at that point I'm pretty sure my water was good at 7 and 0 ppm but my mom just said our water treatment system is out of caustic soda and our water is acidic right now. The guy hasn't come out to do it and for some reason my parents don't feel I'm capable of adding it to the tank myself.....they are different. But anyways, I'm going to treat it as soon as I can or should I just go buy 20 gallons of water and add that? I can take the water out, and then add the bottles that have been sitting in my room. Probably won't be that expensive. Will be getting some Karacyn when I make my way to the pet store to get crickets. Anyways, thanks for the response.

I have yet to go to the pet store since I feed my Gecko on Tuesdays, Ill get there then, but the spot seems to be shrinking in area, still going to treat for colmnaris and do water change.

I went to the store today and bought a pack of Maracyn and added 5 packets(1 packet per 10 gallons) to my water once I did a water change this morning. I did not get it tested, I forgot, but they seem happy and the Maracyn is doing work as we speak. I am adding another 5 packs per day for the next 5 days. Should be gone by then, thanks for all help.

It seems to be working, the spots are looking less fleshy and are starting to darken around the edges, lol, I guess that would be bad if it wasn't a black angel. Adding the 3rd days packets after this post.

OTIS

Ok, so it has been 5 days treating with Maracyn, and the patch has reduced in size, but is still there, should it have healed completely?
