90 gallan Cedar stand 004.jpg90 gallan Cedar stand 002.jpgI had spoke with a manager and the owner of a pet store chain not to be mentioned at this point, about building a less expensive aquarium stand. I can't believe what they're asking for them. By the time you buy a 55 gallon or bigger and all the accessories you have to save up for another year to get the fish. Anyway I get my addition I built cleared out and my table saw set up and all my wood working tools out and I build this 75/90 gallon stand. Do you think I can get a return phone call or get one of these stores to even look at it? Just blew me off. I'd like you all to look at it and give me your opinion on how you like it and how much you'd be willing to pay for it. I have about 20 hours in designing, scraping the 1st one and finishing the final product. I have loads of wood sitting around and can cut down the time it takes to make one so I wouldn't have a lot in it. What do you think?

What a let down. They wanted black painted and offered to pay $50 a stand. I'll be better off making cedar chests and selling them for 2 or 3 times that and getting it!

Black painted?! That stand's clearly meant to show off the natural wood

Paint it black!!!!!!! some people should be shot, what a lovely looking stand, lovely craftsmanship, can get pine easily enough in the uk, but that looks stunning.

Great stand with natural wood effect, much nicer than those cheap looking black stands made of MDF. Why don't you sell them privately via a website, fish forum or Ebay? By selling direct you can offer better quality at a lower price, undercutting the chain stores. You can even offer to make customised stands to fit cllient's tank exactly.

Thanks for your comments and compliments. I forgot to mention they wanted to do this on consignment. I think not! I think I'll make a couple sizes and post on craig's list or local paper.
