I got this guy when he was about an inch and a half. He is not too much of a fan of any other fish that is large in the tank so I have had to modify my stocking a little bit. If my fiancé is the only one in the he will come up to the front of the tank and just stare at her and follow her around the room, but when I am in the room he hides in his plants. I never noticed the blue eyes until I got a SLR camera and was actually able to get some good pics.

nice, synodontis eupterus (also known as featherfin catfish, squeaker catfish and mistakenly called an upsidedown catfish) he'll get to approx 8 inches and they are not as shy as some people would have you believe, mines ok with my stocking including 2 plecs, just so long as they don't go in his cave, i wish i had a better camera to take some decent photo's of my fish :(

I had one years ago that a friend had had for 6 yrs and I had him about 7 before I sold him when I moved out of parents and gave fish up for a bit

He was a character although a nightmare to keep with the big royal and blue eyed plec I had at the time

some people have great success with them around other larger catfish, but he harrassed one blue phantom plec so much that as he chased him around the tank the plec hit a rock and died within a few days and I had to rehome a smaller green phantom. I may try again with a gold nugget, but i have had to move so i want the new tank up and running to perfection before adding a GN. He is actually a little over 8 inches now, got there in about 1 years time.
I set the camera still and had a long exposure to capture him in the corner as he just moved his tale. My camera has actually made me like my tank more

another cool pic
