you have them in a community tank? african clawed frogs will eat anything and everything they can catch and fit in their mouths - - just so you are ready for the fact that you are going to have nice happy fat frogs and no fish!

what do you have them in their with?

and while they seem young now (still too young to sex)....they are going to get quite large and need massive filtration and alot of space - - how big is your tank?
it needs to be atleast 15 gallons just for the frogs!

just a photo to show you one of mine (still as a juvenile!!!!!) males get 3-4" in BODY(legs not included) and females can get up to 6" in BODY (legs not included)

ha ha maybe i should have been a bit clearer. i run two tanks, one with my two frogs, one big community tank. Your's looks well nice. i was hoping somewhere near me sold the non albino kind so i could have a mixture of the two but i can only find dwarfs that arent albino

oh ok! (i had a reason to be concerned! lol)

what size tank are they in? they are still itty babies - mine are becoming pigs! the picture of my marbled was from november - - he has def grown since and his nuptial pads have finally come in! my two albinos turned out to be females so I hope to breed them in a year or so

do you live in the US?

No im in the UK. they are in a small tank right now as im in the process of re-housing some baby blue lobsters, once they have gone to a good home they will be upgraded to a nice 75 litre job. Then eventually i want to down size my community and swap them over so they'll have a lush 125l playground. do you think thats enough space for the two of them? i dnt think ill get any more than the two

the 125 will be a fantastic home for them! :good:they are quite the little characters aren't they? my three are just little hams....they are getting big enough where in a month or so I am going to start treating them with live earthworms instead of guppies - guppies are barely a gulp to them anymore...
and bloodworm cubes are ofcourse a favorite! i definitely recommend reptomin (turtle/reptile) sticks and pellets - - mine frogs really grew once i started them on those - -the balanced nutrition went a long long way for their development!

not many people have ACF so I am thrilled to see another member on the forum with them - - they are my favorite water pet lol

Yeah their defiantely little pigs aren't they. mine seem to eat till they've double in size. what size tank do you keep yours in? i really want a marbled one now ive seen a picture of yours! the hunt begins!

they are in a 35 gallon bow front. just try and get one as soon as possible - ACF will cannibalize! if the new frog is too tiny, they will eta it! i wanted to get a fourth/fifth but i would have to set up a spare tank for a 6-9months to get them large enough and i just don't have the space at the moment (someday!!!)

i meant to type "eat it" and the edit button isn't working!

hi Jenste, did your frogs take a while to take to the turtle sticks? mine dnt seem to be overly enthused about eating them? im not sure if its because they dnt sink. anywho more pics on the way.

how large are the sticks in comparison to the frogs? they don;t have a tongue or teeth so they can't chew food into pieces...try breaking the sticks in half - you can also try handfeeding the frogs....i did that with mine and it is a great way to get them used to being handled!

Genius! they are quite big in comparison, atleast a third the size of the frog. cheers for the advice man!
