What's this fish?

Could anyone help me out here... I'm not sure what species this fish is!!

Gyrinochleilus agmonier (Indian algea eater/sucking loach)

Yes, it's chinese algae eater, Gyrinocheilus aymonieri. Pretty fish, but it might get aggressive in older age

Hmmm, thats what I thought he might be, but I was hoping he wasnt!
He does a great job of munching up my algae, but has started to get a bit jumpy and agressive. I've only got a little tank, which I'm sure he will get way too big for - I told the guy in the shop what tank I had and said I needed something to eat algae and this is what he gave me. I was hoping he was an otto or something.

Right, any ideas what I do now? I have a 38 litre / 10 US gallon tank with him, a shrimp, 5 x-ray tetras and 1 (but hopefully 2 soon) leopard cories.

Those scientific names are difficult to spell and I'm sure you could find all the information with some wrong characters too. And when they change the families and even the whole names, everyone are confused =)

I misspelled Ancistrus for years, I always wrote Ancristus )

becks: Well, you could always ask if they'll change it to another fish. It would propably get quite ugly if you'll keep it

Becks, I dont really like to suggest this but take the algea eater back and see if you can get a coupla ottos, or try this.
When my dad came out of hospital after a bad heart attack I bought him a little 10G and later put in a pair of rams with an apple snail for Algea control.
Works a treat

I have one,he's right at 5 inches long and he is a good boy. I'm lucky,and I'm keeping him forever.
