i just asked my mom if she would buy me a 33 gallon tank in the first week of october and she said yes!
im thinking of making this a nice moderately planted german blue ram tank :shifty:
just wanted to ask is a 40 watt gro-lux light fine for it? will i have to dose carbon(in the form of easy carbo)?is there any fert ill have to put if yes than which one? and which plants to have in a 33 gallon with 40 watt lighting?
can i have a heavily plated tank??

40W of light is fine. To maximise it's usage, supply a reflector.
It depends how low tech you want to go.

1. Plant heavily with plants such as Hygrophila, Ludwigia, Amazon swords, Crypts, Elodea, Ambulia, Java fern and mosses. Dose Easycarbo (1ml per 20litres) and Tropica Plant Nutrition + (1ml per 20litres) everyday. 25%-50% water change every week.

2. Again, plant heavily with the plants above. But don't dose anything. Let the fish produce the nutrients for the plants. Occasionally every 2 weeks add some trace elements (Easylife Profito). Don't dose any form of carbon but this requires you to do no water changes. Sounds odd doesn't it? Having a tank where you are required to do no water changes. This is to ensure that the CO2 levels stay high enough for the plants. This option will give you very slow growth whereas the first option will give you slow-medium growth.

are you planning on keeping anything other than german blue rams?

i would go with Easy carbo and TPN+ as radar suggested, along with 75% plant substrate coverage, this way you can drive away algae as the plants will consume the ammonia over nitrates, as its easier for them to utilize.

What kind fo substrate are you planning on using, shahrezsyed?

FYI, after mating they prefer to lay eggs on broad leafed plants. My Blue-Rams really liked the Java Fern and Anubias I planted in thier low-tech/low light tank. here's a picture of one of them below.

I'm sure yours will be awesome, hope to see some pics of it soon!
