Here's another picture of my discus that keep spawning. I think it's the 8th time. I'm starting to lose count anymore. With each spawn they get closer to raising their fry. I think if all goes well I should have free swimmers by Sunday.
Hope you like the picture.

My thoughts exactly! I gots some learnin to do before I try discus. :D

Thanks for the comments everybody.

The news is the same. A bunch of the fry were free swimming today. Mysteriously there numbers vanished to none.

ummm fry

I'm not sure that it would make a difference if the pair was in there own tank. I've been building a stand for a 29 gallon tank for my pair. There is a total of 6 discus in the tank I have, after the eggs hatch and I have wigglers I place a plexiglass divider I made in the tank to seperate the other fish.

hi elgecko,

SUPERB picture! Wow!

Sorry to hear you are still having trouble with the fry, although I have head that pigeon blood fry are extremely difficult to raise because naturally, wild Discus go a very dark colour as the mucous for the fry is secreted, so fry are naturally attracted to dark Discus when they are hungry. Pidgeon blood etc do not turn dark, they sometimes turn whiter which means the fry are not attracted to it.

I have also heard keeping a bare tank with just one parent will counter-act this.

Hope you have better luck soon, they are gorgeous fish you have!

Ken
