Heres a smaller shot of my puffer saltwater tank, it's got 1 ceylon puffer, 2 green spotted puffers, 1 anemone crab, 3 scarlet hermit crabs, 1 green serpent starfish, 1 chocolate chip starfish, 1 snail, 1 emerald green crab.

The puffs were acclimated to full salt by my LFS and are doing well even though they are juviniles they have taken to the saltwater just fine.

Right now Im watching my anemone crab mutilate a raw shrimp I got at the grocery store on the way home, it's like he hasnt eaten in two weeks, he's going at it so hard.

Dee doo dee dee doo.... bump bump buh, bump bump buh
(X-files music case ya didn't no)
Scary lookin critters, nice though

Crabs use to be one of my fears in life, along with snakes, but because this one is green I'm getting better with having crabs in my tank, though I'll never get use to snakes, and will never keep them anywhere near me (Must be a childhood fear of when I went to boarding school and we went into the science lab and one of the other kids blurted out "Wheres the rattlesnake?", "I dont see him in his tank". The science teacher quickly evacuated us from the classroom)

Theres a giant (well giant to me) crab at my LFS thats like 6" from side to side that they suggested I turn my 100 gallon into a crab tank YUCK! Im not ready for that yet.

But Im slowly getting there and use to fear my serpent starfish in the beginning, now I have no quarrels if I have to pick it up by hand to move it, which I might do soon to the clowns tank since the puffers have attempted to nip at his legs.

Oh yeah, heres a pic of the anemone crab, that thing you see on it's shell is an anemone, and he came with it. But I think I may give him to the guy at the LFS to take home to his tank next week when I pickup my new Figure 8 puffer because by then my Ceylon puffer will be in my friends tank.

wow that anemone is so cool looking
boy i could go for some shrimp right now :p

The anemone on his back is getting fairly large now. I just realized that the pic of the anemone crab was taken about amonth ago, and since then the anemone has now spread out to about 1/2 his bodys size and since there are no natural anemones in my tank, I think he allows it to stay there. It's very cool to see him feed it, he'll either grab some food with his claw and reach around and give it to the anemone or he'll back himself up to the food so that the anemone can grab it.

Personally, I honestly wish the anemone would just die, because the ceylon puffer has a tendancy to try to attack it for food, and when he does the anemone lets off many strands of "stuff" the color of cotton candy, and the ceylon puffer then coughs (yes, you can actually hear him coughing outside the tank), and spits out a couple cotton candy strands. But the anemone crab uses the anemone as protection and if there were any small ones in the tank, he would grab them and stick them to his shell for more protection. I've seen pictures of one that had like 7 or 8 small anemones stuck to his back.

Maybe he feeds the anemone more because he can't find any others to stick to his back and wants it to grow to cover his shell for protection. I dunno really, just guessing. If I end up keeping it, then I may get some larger shells to dump in the water in case he needs to move on up to a larger shell.

the anemone crab is awesome..
I too have a fear of crabs though... i think it came from hermit crabs pinching me and not letting go until i could find some water to run them under, and also walking on the beach at night with one of my friends... the crabs were everywhere and we didn't want to step on them so we threw sticks on the sand and they attacked them!! AHAHH
I swear those crabs charged us too...
