I have a male and a female and they would maje cool babies if they where bred. How much does a small tank cost?
Please comment and give me answers?!!!!!!

From what I have gathered, breeding bettas is a very expensive endeavor. You need a seprate tank for the male and female, individual tanks for when the fry grow up, not to mention food for the adults, baby shrimp for the fry, and a heater and small filter for each tank you use.
It is quite a process, and if one does not have the time or resources it should not be attempted.
Not to discourage you, but be fully informed before you begin this process.

Its an expensive & long process, you need to have your Betta housed in their own individual tanks to start off with, then you need a seperate breeding tank which needs to be bare bottomed.

The male & female have to be conditioned for a week to 2 weeks before hand, then they are slowly introduced to each other, when the male is placed in the breeding & the female is introduced using a chimney, the act of spawning can be quite aggresive & they need to be closely watched, once spawning has occured you need to remove the female immediately.

The male then cares for the eggs & young fry until they are free swimming, he is then removed & it is your job to care for the fry, they need tiny live foods, such as baby brine shrimp, banana worm etc which you have to cultivate yourself.

Once the babies start to mature, the males need seperating so you will need to be able to seperate them all into individual large jars, which will all need to be heated & have water changes done.

Its not easy, often extremely frustrating, expensive but very rewarding.

I'm really new to it all myself, if you look through all the info on here & other site you will find tons of information, with Betta breeding you need to read every little bit you can find.

I suggest you do some proper in-depth research about breeding bettas - you cannot just buy a small tank, you will need to purchase maybe a hundred small tanks for when the fry become aggressive and need their own space (if you leave them all in one tank, they will be stunted and you will have many deaths). Are you honestly prepared to do WC's every other day on a hundred little tanks? What happens when you can't find homes for all the babies? You can't just assume that your LFS will take them - they may take some boys but I know a few LFS's near me that won't have female bettas in stock.

It's not as simple as "making cool babies" as you put it.

small tank? yea, yea, u might wanna read up a bit... a 20 gal minimun can be used to start, but personaly three 20's for grow out is my preference, and thats only if you only have 60 or less fry.....yarr. much reading

Ouch man.. You should have not asked this question in the betta forums.
Haha [ :

But yeah.. Like all the above said...

It's not easy.
It is expensive.
I've spent AT LEAST 125 bucks on my CT spawn.
And also to mention that...
Your first may not always be successful, and sometimes the pair just don't get along.
Do some proper research, and plenty preparation before even considering to breed bettas.
:good:
