Durham. England.
Built last year and today it's full of wildlife. A pleasure to see.
The garden has also been landscaped by Mrs. Dragon.
Will post a pic of the mature garden this year when the plants start to grow.

Ah so this is where the sticklebacks are you caught using the old inverted bottle trick then ;) :) Looking good mate, and a darn site bigger pond than mine will be! :)
 
Yes William about the Sticklebacks, Damn good way to catch fish. I have about 30 of them, only caught 13 of them last year!
and SIZE isn't everything mate. :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
nice pond this is our small pond we are building a larger formal pond on the other side of the garden for koi

Looks great Dragon, I will have to get some pics of my ponds when they are planted this summer. Just an idea, you could add a few more native fish species. How big is it in terms of water volume? I would love to make a native fish pond one day with Crucian Carp, Rudd, Gudgeon, Minnows, Stickleback, Tench, Roach and Bream. But the landscaping and pond design is great, I'd love to see some closer pics. :thumbs:
 
The landscaping and pond design and garden design is all done and dug out by Mrs. Dragon. She is an avid gardener and she tells me that we have quite a few species of rare plants too. The pond holds around 1000 gallons and the little header pool which cascades water into the main pond holds around 25 gallons. the water is circulated via a pump which runs 24/7. the pipework is buried in the ground and runs underground until it reaches the underside of the header pool. Only the pump unit can be seen in the pond.
BTW I like your pond too Aqua UK, looks neat and quite compact.
 
Theres plenty of room, have you considered any other fish species? :)
