Hey, I bought a betta last weekend, and he was the first into a brand new tank (having set it up a week or so earlier with filtration, de-chlorinator and water maturer etc etc). We were going to do a water change of about 30%ish in the morning, but I've just noticed this silver patch has appeared under his mouth, sort of where his gills are.. Is this a sign of illness? If so, what shall I do about it, treat it with etc.. Cant seem to get much info by googling! :/

Thanks :)

a picture of the silver area would be good to see, if you can get one please?

Okay, managed to get a couple of pics. When I first bought him, he was just dark blue round there, I dont have any pics that are good quality from that time though, sorry!

Any help?

Dont worry he's not sick thats just a colour change, infact its quite a common colour placement on VT's he's fine! probably just changed due to a less stressful environment and he being a bit happier. Nice mustard ventricals he has :good:
