I think the wrasse is called a vermicated wrasse or something like that and as Ski mentioned it is a male and a type of leopard wrasse, it is a lovely fish but it goes to bed early and sleeps under the sand, so the days i work, which are 13 hour days i only see it for a few minutes in the morning, i also suspect it's making my water look slighty cloudy during daylight hours as when it feeds it goes crazy diving into the substrate and spraying it everywhere, it really is quite a sight.
I also have some breaking news i have cleaned the back glass, i could stand it no more, the tank looks so much better now, it actually looks like i spend abit of time on it. I had to use a stanley knife blade to scrape it off, coraline algae is solid is'nt it. I still need to do the sides tomorrow, I will never let anything grow on the back again and I have also changed the backing to blue, it makes the tank much brighter and i also get a bit of the shimmering effect
I agree with you Tigerissy, the blue does look deeper does'nt it, I have also removed my condensation trays which i think cut way to much light.
Seffie, the blue is way better than the black, it feels like i have a new tank again
I have busy with the tank today and have finished removing the algae on the side glass, my wife has surprised me with a new coral today, its a hard coral but i have no idea what its called at the moment, hopefully someone here can help me id it. will get a pic up soon, just going to let it settle for a bit first, its closed at the moment.
Here is the new coral, any advice would be great, i know little about it, other than it likes gentle/moderate flow and moderate lighting.
not sure if it will stay where it is at the moment, it has been suggested that its either a gorgonian or seafan and should not be placed on the sand, what do you guys think?
Check out my clownfish, it never seems to leave the Zoo's now
I have had two partners for this fish so far, one jumped on top of the condensation trays and cooked under the lights and the other got stuck in the powerhead, he seems to do ok on his own.
