Tough to say for sure without seeing it's internals, but kalkwasser reactors are used for keeping calcium hydroxide dissolved. The pump is on a timer to come on for a few minutes maybe twice per day to stir the solution. You add calcium hydroxide (aka pickling lime) to the reactor to supersaturate the water. Then the resulting solution is dripped into the tank, so there should be a small fitting on either end for a drip line to be inserted...
