i've got three of 'em together in my 3ft tank and they're always together.. do a good job too.. always looking busy.. very nice fish. 
never had any trouble with them except one day two of them were fighting like mad for a minute or so until I broke it up.. I thought they'd battered each other cos their stripe seemed to almost disappear and I thought this one skin damage but once the fight was broken up they just went back to normal and colouration returned fully within minutes and they've never bothered each other again... mmm bit of a weird one but all seems fine now

BTW this is a flying fox.. its just another name for the SAE they are one and the same... although you are right about the CAE they are the aggressive ones as they mature.
The SAE is sometimes called Siamese Flying Fox but it is not the true Flying Fox.bulldog188 said:

Aha I stand corrected... thanks for the info that's a great page.. very informative.. BTW It does say that the SAE is known as the Siamese 'Flying Fox' probably why many people mistakenly refer to it as the Flying Fox simply by missing out the 'Siamese' part you are mistakenly calling it another fish all together.

I went into all this when I adopted this fish, he was being thrown out, along with the 5 cherry barbs, I didnt know what it was really, but he had the strip right through his tail to the end, (if not then flying fox) also no colouring on the finns.
