My Pregnant Mollies Is Not Moving Alot

my mollies is pregnant and she is barely moving i bought her in a breeder tank what else can i do and its been about 4 weeks or more since her last set of fry at the pet store

My molly was bit dopey and didnt move much when she was pregnant. To be honest if shes feeding she should be okay but keep an eye on her. I hope your fry is okay and her.

she finally had here baby fry on march 3 about 30 living and 30 still in there sack not fully ready i think she got reed of them all not to be pregnant again in 4 weeks and now her spine is still curved since she had them how long will she be like this

How old is she as the spine can curve in old age.
Also it can be internal parasites, fish tb, old age, vitamin deficiency.

am i right in thinking you had her in the breeder box from 27th feb to 3rd march? that is far too long they should only be in a breeder box for 24 hours. she likely got stressed and aborted the babies but luckily as she was close to full term half survived.

has she had a bent spine since you bought her or just since she had the babies?

What I did when I had female platys was to let them give birth in the main tank then go and catch the fry and move them to a tank of there own.
Or plenty of plants for the fry in hide in and float a plant at the top of the tank for the fry to hide in.
My fry would hide in the plants at the top of the tank.
I agree with spishkey that keeping her in a breeding trap for that long would of caused enough stress for her to abort the fry.

i think those breeder boxes are awful, they should come with instructions that the fish should be kept in their for a maximum of xxx hours

wilder has the right idea with lots of plants, especially floating plants. in my experience the babies hover near the surface in the roots of floating plants, then you can easily scoopt hem up.

OR if you have a seperate tank for fry, transfer the mom over before she gives birth, let her have them in the fry tank then put her back in the main tank after shes done.
