I have a large piece of malaysian wood, i was wondering if i could drill a small hole in it and plant a plant in it. if i did this, would the plant grow? any help is apreiciated

I don't see why not.

Plants such as Java Fern that have a rhizome prefer to be tied to drift wood or a rock for planting purposes.

Stem plants I'm not sure - even though their root strcture is not that significant, their roots still may need to be able to spread out.

here is a pic of what i did :D

Nice job on the planting -

You plan on putting some gravel in there?

Are those Discuss?

no gravel, i plan on using that tank for breeding when my discus pair off, right now im growing them out. I will eventually have a bigger tank with sand and plants, the works. :D
