Aquarium on March 25th, 2004. It is about 40 gallons (48 inches long by 12 inches wide by 16 inches high) and has just been emptied of most of it's water. There is still some left over gravel and muck, I'll have to clean it up some more.
Starting in 1999 the tank was used as a Tanganyika setup. Initally there were several fish living among the rocky crevices of my man-made rift lake. However over the last few years they have died off, leaving only a very hardy Julidochromis sp.
Now the last fish is gone and I have a fresh tank to work with. Not sure what type of fish I will get but I do know that:
1. They won't be salt water.
2. Few to no live plants, as I only have two 18'' bulbs to work with.
3. No cichlids; I just did that.
4. No goldfish. (Scratch this, heater just broke)
Overall I'm tired of the 'natural' look. Before the Tangayika setup, I had a 20 gallon South American planted tank. I think a ceramic castle and a few plastic plants might look nice.
