Got abit worried after inchworm commented on this pic about him looking redish and done some looking and its possibly septicemia?

Water is
0 Ammonia
0 Nitrite
20 Nitrate
23oc
planted with sand, fed with hikari wafers

Acts completely normal, eats fine swims fine, plays fine hence me just thinking it was his colouration coming through after adjusting to he tank. None of the others show signs.

No hospital tank, only a 3 gal betta tank being used :/

Really hope its not :(

Now the more I read up about it the more confused i get
"Symptoms:
Streaks of blood in fins are often one of the first obvious signs. The may have red areas on their body and eyes as well. The fish will become lethargic, which increases in severity as time goes by.

If the condition is brought about by ammonia, ammonia poisoning symptoms may also appear. These include gasping at the surface and rapid breathing"

Hes the most active fish in the tank the water is fine! God it sounds awful and it would be safer to euthanas him

a few of my cories have a pinkish coloration to their bellies, especially near their fins...its just vessels closer to the surface so it appears pinkish.

I certainly hope so

Septicemia is usually dark red patches.

does it look more red after he/she's been fairly cativly swimming and doing the cory thing. if so, id say its jst capillaries close to the surface that make those areas appear more red. when you exercise blood vessels dilate to bring more oxygen to the tissues and this is most likely what you are seeing (like a runner's face getting red while running)...his color looks pretty normal to me.

Yeah I suppose that explains it! He/she is the most active one in the tank, once I saw the pics of Sep on google I did wonder if maybe it was different for scaleless fish but guess not!

i wouldnt worry about it...is that a peppered cory??? mine are always zooming around the tank all crazy like and have redness to their bellies (and noticeable breathing afterwards) concentrated aroudn their fins and also running laterally like your picture shows...they are very active, fed well and show no signs of distress so id say nothing to worry about and its just capillaries that are dilated near the surface due to using those muscles.
cheers
