Hi All!
I've had a a lovely red, white, and black platy (I believe the LFS called her a tricolor) for about 1 year now. A couple of months ago, my husband thought that the red patch on her 'forehead' was looking larger, with some white marks, and kind of lumpy - we assumed this was just a part of her changing as she got older. She is quite shy, only comes out to eat, and hides away when I get my face to close to the tank - so I've never really gotten a good close look at the area (until now).
This morning I noticed that some red scales in the area appeared to be loose, like they are peeling off. So - I decided to net her & get a good look.
The red patch has white bumps popping up through it, they look almost like white blisters, and there is definitely some loose red scales (you can kind of see this in the second picture). She still looks perfectly well.
Is this disease, or something normal?? I didnt post this in the emergency section - as it's obviously been going on for a while. None of my other fish are affected in the same way.
Thanks!!
