This is the best picture I could post, Sliver developed a fungus around the gill line on his right side, possibly from an injury, or stress? They've been a little freaked out the last few days because I've building them a canopy so I could add more lights and it looks like the tape measurer is a mortal enemy! I covered the tank with a blanket Sunday just to keep their stress levels down, it definately helped. Thankfully it's almost done.

We noticed the fungus Monday night at around 10 so it was too late to do anything, but I took a vacation day from work yesterday to hit my LFS as soon as it opened for some meds. They recommended Jungle Fish Care's "Fungus Eliminator" and added it yesterday around noon, it seems to have gotten slightly worse but I need to give the meds some time. The ingredients are Nitrofurazone, Furazolidone and Potassium Dichromate.

There's probably not much I can do right now but wait but if anyone's got any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

Thanks.

Its hard to tell from that picture, but is there any redness around or inside the fungus area at all?

I would give it time for the med to work.
Good Luck.

I got home last night and the fungus was gone, his face looks beat up where it was so he must have run into a rock in an attempt to get away from the tape measurer, they were really freaking out over it. Little does he know he could kick that tape measurer's ass!

Ok that's fine then, just keep a close eye on him.
Good Luck.
