Sick Or Injured Betta - Help / Advice Appreciated

I am not sure if my Betta is injured or ill.

I have taken some pics, not great quality, done with a mobile.

At the base of his back, where it meets his fin it looks like he has rubbed away his scales.

I am not sure how to treat this, is it fin rot or self inflicted damage.

He has a habit of damaging himself when he wraps himself round various things and from 'playing' in the gravel.

Any advice etc greatly appreciated.

He is also havin problems with the parts in the picture that showing up light coloured in this pic.
