Hi all

I have still got computer issue’s here and it’s a real nightmare to post any updates lately but so much has happened with the tank I have made a special effort to sit through the endless waiting for any new page to load and appear on my screen.

Since adding the blue mushrooms which are doing pretty well, I added two chromis fish, I could not resist them at a fiver each and I intend to get a few more, the thing is when I added them they seemed pretty happy and were swimming around ok, I went out for the afternoon, came back and one of the chromis fish was gone and I have seen no trace of it since, and that was a week ago, I have since rearranged the reef and have found no body or anything, where did it go? very strange.

Ben, you were right about the wrasse name, its not a yellow fin, it’s a yellowtail or spotted wrasse, its nibbling off the rock all day, but does not seem to take frozen food so I hope its feeding enough.

I also have some more bad news, I lost a clown fish a couple of nights ago, I found it stuck to my big powerhead, it could not have been stuck for long as me and my wife were watching the fish a matter of minutes before. When I removed it from the powerhead it was in a terrible state and well and truly dead, I was gutted, it was such a strong healthy fish.

My green star polyps are also having a hard time, they have not opened very well for days and are being attacked by loads of Aiptasia, loads of the little pests, I had a go at removing them with tweezers but had no chance, they withdraw into the rock much to quick for me, I seem to have a lot in the tank, all different types, my wife even found a slug type thing which appeared to be eating the polyps, it was purple, had a white stripe down its middle and was about an inch long.

I have rearranged the tank today and when it settles I will try to post a pic, aside from the things mentioned above the tank overall seems to be doing ok, although the brown algea on the sand is still a problem.

Thanks

I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out, i will be working on the left hand side first, just need to get some more large pieces of rock, i think with the way it is now, it will be alot easier to extend in the future.

Thanks

Still looking pretty dam good tho :good: keep in there

Sorry to hear you've lost a few of your fish VM! I had aiptasia in my tankand tried Aiptasia X, but I ended up getting a true peppermint shrimp which has done the job well.

I am sure things will start to settle soon. Brown algae is still hanging about for me too but slowing down a bit.

Keep going matey....it's looking impressive! :D

Hi all

Thanks very much for the support guys :good: . I have some better news today, I have been shopping I have finally got hold of a regal tang and it’s a real beauty its got to be my favourite addition to the tank so far, I brought a feather duster along with another pink coral, which I forgot to look at the name of, I am sure someone can tell me. I also brought another powerhead for the right hand side of the tank, it’s a SEIO M1100 which turns 4400 litres an hour, I also picked up some 3 more chromis fish and another 3 kilos of LR.

Here is the first pic, i will post the rest in separate posts, as i am using a different camara and have not worked out how to get more than one pic per post yet

I have cleaned the back glass, i was going to leave it, but looking at the last fts, i realised how bad it looked.

Wow, what a difference the cleaning of that back glass has made. So much better.
