Ya I planted some 2 weeks ago and it’s starting to take hold in the substrate but I have some algae too

requires high lighting, but it does root and spread VERY quickly, in the right conditions

how did you get it to stay on the substrate before it rooted?

HC is a stem plant, it doesnt need roots to be planted, simply pull off a stem, and plant.

high light, CO2, and heavy fertilisation.

Seperate til little bits and plug them into the ground.
Or

Plug them into the ground and sprinkle substrate onto them to weight them down til they root.
