So I have ordered the tank but in my boredom to get going I have been dismantling my rockery and my brother in laws pond for ragstone. Have now pressure washed most of it and in absence of any decent TV got on photoshop and put this together. The background is wrong as I am getting the Juwel 3d Rock one but gives the right look size and dimension wise for rocks.

- Do I have enough rocks - caves and tunnels?
- Any risk of aquarium breakage (know there isn't really but need some re-assurance)?
- Is the rock far left too big? weighs over 30kg
- As you may notice have stuck a clay vase in there was suggested by the guy at LFS that a pace with a small entrance would enable any fry to hide away he says it has worked for him for breeding in a mixed Cichlid tank worth leaving there asthaetically pleasing or silly?

No the background I ripped from a picture on a juwel website but it was lit with some very very blue light and got bored with Adobe should have calmed it down a bit. The real thing is way off this but was just wondering what people thought of the rocks.

The rocks are currently stacked in the garden on my picnic bench which conveniently is 5ft long same as the tank.

Is this for an african cichlid set up? If so looks good, if its for other types of fish, depending on what they are of course, you might want some plants in there. The juwel rock background will look good with that set up.

If your worried about the rocks cracking the glass, obviously dont lean them on any of the glass, but you can also get something called egg crate that you can put on the bottom of the tank under the substrate to balance the rocks on. You could also silicone some of the rocks together to stop them falling if you want.

Thanks guys. You're correct it is to house Malawi's. I am looking at some kids/workshop rubber foam matting to lay on the bottom of tank it comes in a pack 1.5m2 for £11.95 so maybe cheaper than egg crate and will provide cushioning for the rocks. I was thinking I would silicone a layer of substrate onto the top so that the black doesnt show through as well as securing the rocks together.
Maybe this colour is nearer true for the background?
