Hey All,

If you dont checked out this site then your crazy....http://www.bettatalk.com/

They sell loads of top quality Bettas, I bought one before and they shipped it to the UK for me. Betta was still alive and was in top condition. Unfortunately he died two years later but he was a kick ass betta.

Picture of the strain.

Good choice of betta sites to recommend - I've seen many people suggest others go there for info, and I know I've drooled over her bettas many a time, in the past.
Although, speaking personally, I see way too many gorgeous bettas I can't get right here and hardly require any further torture than what I daily receive.
And, given the option, I'd actually rather buy from someone I know.
I'm guessing you haven't seen very many of the pics posted here by modaz, Netty and others...

Nice fish but you take a big risk shipping into the UK, if you don't have a licence and customs open it the fish will be destroyed!!!

Well My dad had to order it because I was only 16 at the time andwas still in school.

She is a great Betta Breeder however because they come so carefully wrapped up and if your Betta is dead on arrival then they will replace it.

If you check out her stat she has done over 5,000 shipments to the UK with 30 unsuccessful issues or something along them lines.

Fortunately I was one of the others!! :D

Good advice on keeping bettas aswell

:good:

What so did those 30 unsuccessful bettas get killed?!?!?!

wouldnt know, any opened parcels without documents or legal papers from both sides will be culled by customs. The uk in particular you need import licenses to obtain fish from abroad, the risk if caught the fine can be massive and it's per fish not per parcel.

I wouldnt expect someone of such good cred would be stupid enough to send without the legal docs but knowing that your sending to a person without an import license makes you just as guilty as well. What people outsdie the UK do not understand is that our import laws are one of the strictest in the world. Blimey you even need a license to bring in workers from abroad now.

They were recorded as died on dilivery. Basically they were sent to the person and when they opened the parcel the betta has died.

I'm not sure what she does about the UK laws. I would assume that she would have checked that out but like I said my dad handled that. I havn't bought since as I dunno how to go about getting a licience?

Yes but out of 5000 shipments I personally think that thats a good percentage....just looked through my post again and I cant see anywhere were I said that she was amazing? I called the website amazing because it is a great source for knowledge for beginners. So if your just going to post negative/sarcastic comments then dont bother?

it may be good but it could still be better. my opinion and thats all.

The import licence is free to any one to import fish but their is a big but, you can't resell the fish, they are for you only fry can be sold though.

Which is a problem as many people think they can import fish to resell but these people are breaking the law and can have the fish removed, destroyed and fined!!

Fish imported for resale have to have a health certificate from the breeder.

after my disaster of recieving one dead and one dieing fish (which died within couple of days) from abroad i'd never buy from out of UK again, was just too heartbreaking.:(

Bad site. Do NOT order from her. Not only does she charge too much for a pair of bettas, but she also often ships out culls instead of the fish you see in the strain lines. Don't buy from a seller that wont give you pics of what your buying :)

betta talk was one of the first sites i came across when i started of with bettas. her articles are funny and witty and easy to understand when you are starting off.
as for ordering fish, i try not to because it just doesn'[t seem safe when i can get lovely boys and girls at the lfs (although there not at pretty as nettys fish) they are good companion fish and in the end thats all i can ask for a little freinds who is always happy to see me at the end of a long and rough day.
