 One wonders if turkey basters are ever used for basting turkeys

Yep defiantly a valuable tool in the aquarist’s tool box sort of speaks. There perfect for spot feeding corals, blasting the rock work to get all the debris off during water changes ect ect.
Best regards john, o

As I am going to the LFS I might as well pick up the basics in food requirements - could someone give me a shopping list please. what will I need for my cuc of snails and hermits and my pair of clowns (not getting the clowns today of course). And for the future, my corals, feathers etc.

I feed my brackish mob with the usual frozen brine shrimp etc, chopped prawns/cockle and peas - so do have some stock :good:

Some CUC now in.
4 blue leg hermits (although not convinced they are actually bluelegged as they have dark legs with white knees  )
1 Turbo snail
2 skunk shrimps
1 emerald crab

All looking good,
shrimps are hiding
emerald crab is busy re-arranging my LR :grr:
Hermits and turbo are munching like mad :good:

LFS only had turbo snails so going to look online for some ceriths and nass.

Do you have any pics?

How about you Seffie, how is yours coming on?

Now have four blue legged hermit crabs and one turbo. As Trod said we have having huge problems getting the different types of snail we need  it is very annoying

looks really good, bet your pleased. My salt is nealy there seemed to have spent all day watching it and adding a bit more, how long now before you can add any fish?

Little critters working hard, hermits are munching on my grass like stuff, one of my skunk shrimps has moulted already :look:
Emmy (my emerald crab  ) hasn't stopped picking at LR :sly:
And turbo snail, well its a snail I'm sure its doing something
Nothing seems to like diatoms on sand though!!!

update

Everything is going well - so time for our first fish  However, Have been reading alot about clown fish and many posts have said that if adding Clowns to the tank then you should add your other fish at the same time? This goes against everything I know about tropical fish ie adding a bio load slowly over some time............. I have read they can get aggresive with new arrivals especially if they have hosted with a coral - I intend to buy babies so that they will turn into a pair of male/female but do I really need to buy all my fish stock at once (I know I can't have that many), wanted to take it a bit slower than that and enjoy the research of each new fish along with the purchase

Trod and i have followed Andywg (who lives near us) and taken ourselves to our local Pets at home, unbelievably they have a fairly new, really nice marine section with a resident, young marine geek - we spent what seemed like hours there  with him telling us about each individual fish in his section - it was heaven. we defo be going back there to get our clowns. Also their SG is 1.025 as opposed to swallows which is gulp. 1.017 so less stress for the fish

anyway, let us know what you think please

Dont forget to keep an eye on you Astrea snails (not Turbos from the pic) as they cannot right themselves if they topple over.
Clowns definately do get aggressive and territoral when placed in such a small space. I'd go for Cardinals. Knowing what I know now.
